In this tutorial, we will explore how to utilize the actions feature in JigSpace to add interactive elements, customization, and enhance your Jigs.
Common use cases
- 3D configurators: Use menus or individual pieces within your Jig to allow viewers to select different versions or formats of your product.
- Quizzes: Link actions to questions to test viewers' knowledge and determine the path of the Jig based on their answers.
- Interactive demos: Engage users by adding interactive components to your Jig. This can include buttons that trigger product tasks or selecting different parts of the model to activate product features.
- 'Jigs within Jigs': Enable customers to explore various procedures within your product by selecting a part that leads to a sequence demonstrating that specific procedure.
These above uses of actions can be applied extensively across sales, marketing, training and education.
Getting started with actions
To understand how actions can be implemented for each of these applications, watch the video featuring Laura's step-by-step guide to implementing these kinds of actions.
Common settings for actions
There are a few common settings that may be applied to Jigs with actions, depending on your use case.
Hide action effects
You can hide action effects that appear as a visual hint to viewers, so they cannot see what objects can be clicked on. This is often desirable when creating training simulations or demos which require the learner to demonstrate their knowledge.

Hide step controls
You can hide the step controls of a Jig, so that the only way to navigate through it is via these interactive actions you add to your Jig, or via autoplaying animations. This may be desirable when creating 3D configurators or 'choose your own adventure' style navigation and learning pathways.
