With actions, iPad users can add interactivity to 3D objects or UI that take viewers to another step in the same Jig, or open a website. Viewers of your Jigs on Apple Vision Pro can also be linked from one Jig to another with actions.
On iPad you can now add a default camera viewpoint to any step in your Jig. This moves non-AR viewers to where you want them to see on each step when they transition from one step to another.
When moving objects around, iPad users can now snap 3D models together based on their surfaces or vertices, or snap them to the ground. You can also edit pivot points, adjust position, rotation, and scale transforms with numerical input, and edit material settings and texture effects, all on the go using the JigSpace iPad app.
Other improvements:
Help hints in the Jig editing workshop now contain short videos to make it easier to learn features while you're editing them, right when you need them.
You can now also open Jigs to edit from anywhere with deep-linking into edit mode, which opens the corresponding Jig directly in the Workshop on desktop, so you can jump from the dashboard or an email alert, straight into editing with one click.
We’ve also squashed a range of bugs that will improve performance and stability across the apps.
If you need to scale, rotate, or reposition your entire Jig - you can now edit the overall Jig scene root instead of selecting all objects individually and transforming.
This is ideal for Jigs with many models in them, or content with a large real world scale like construction, rail, or aviation that need to transform many metres from one step to another.
Big improvement to showing, hiding, deleting user experience
Updates to hiding and deleting objects
Control the visibility of parts of your models on each step using the updated toolbar or object list feature.
We've made it easier to hide and show objects from step to step, without accidentally deleting them.
To prevent accidental data loss, deleting is now restricted to removing an entire object from all steps in your Jig . This should help users from deleting parts of objects on a specific step, and then later wanting to undo or restore these parts, which is not possible. Now, you can hide an object easily, and "unhide" it on any step. We think this refresh is clearer and more intuitive.
When we import objects from your CAD files, their names are often messy, inaccurate, or meaningless. Now you can double click on any object in the object list, and rename it, making them easier to find, reference, and display.
