Faster Jigs, redesigned text boxes, and many more improvements
3X Faster Jigs in web browser
Jigs shared to the web now load over 3 times faster before. Larger Jigs that previously struggled to load in browsers should now open easily, even when on slower internet connections.
Redesigned text boxes
With a cleaner new design, you can adjust corner rounding and padding on text boxes to suit anything from short headings, to longer bodies of text.
Jigs that are shared with you 1:1 by a team mate for collaboration on editing or viewing, now appear in Team Jigs and filtered by 'Show shared with me'.
Multi-selection simplified
You can now select mulitple objects across both the viewport and object list using the same hotkeys on the desktop apps:
You can now present a focused, white-labeled set of your Jigs on Apple Vision Pro. The rest of the app disappears, viewers only see the Jigs you choose. Built for trade shows, experience centers, and training programs. You can filter your showcase using categories, tags, or offline Jigs.
You can organize your 3D presentations into categories to group similar topics together (like product lines, or training subjects). Jigs can be added to a category (similar folders) and be sorted into these categories. Categories also have a shortcut to launch into a showcase.
Launch a showcase from the Jig AVP Remote app on your iPhone or iPad to keep your guest viewers on Apple Vision Pro focused and undistracted. Viewers in a paired and connected Apple Vision Pro will see a mirrored view with the AVP remote app.
To simplify the user experience, Jigs that are shared directly with you by a team mate are now able to be viewed in the 'Team Jigs' tab, and filtering to 'Shared with me'.
Jigs now become viewable and interactive sooner - approximately 25%-50% faster.
Text boxes
We've also updated the default design of text boxes. Creators now have more design options for rounded corners and text padding, so that they work for titles, information cards, and user interface components.
Apple Vision Pro app now has a dedicated downloads tab to make it easy to find your Jigs to present that you have already downloaded.
If you are offline and using your AVP, you will be directed to this tab. When presenting Jigs in low-speed public WiFi environments, it will be easier to find your downloaded Jigs too.
Downloaded Jigs can also be loaded via the remote from the new dedicated downloads tab on the Jig AVP Remote app.
We've improved the ability to reconnect the AVP Remote app to your device after removing the device, and putting it back on again. This will help users in busy public WiFi environments like exhibition trade shows or customer experience centers.
With actions, iPad users can add interactivity to 3D objects or UI that take viewers to another step in the same Jig, or open a website. Viewers of your Jigs on Apple Vision Pro can also be linked from one Jig to another with actions.
On iPad you can now add a default camera viewpoint to any step in your Jig. This moves non-AR viewers to where you want them to see on each step when they transition from one step to another.
When moving objects around, iPad users can now snap 3D models together based on their surfaces or vertices, or snap them to the ground. You can also edit pivot points, adjust position, rotation, and scale transforms with numerical input, and edit material settings and texture effects, all on the go using the JigSpace iPad app.
Other improvements:
Help hints in the Jig editing workshop now contain short videos to make it easier to learn features while you're editing them, right when you need them.
You can now also open Jigs to edit from anywhere with deep-linking into edit mode, which opens the corresponding Jig directly in the Workshop on desktop, so you can jump from the dashboard or an email alert, straight into editing with one click.
We’ve also squashed a range of bugs that will improve performance and stability across the apps.
If you need to scale, rotate, or reposition your entire Jig - you can now edit the overall Jig scene root instead of selecting all objects individually and transforming.
This is ideal for Jigs with many models in them, or content with a large real world scale like construction, rail, or aviation that need to transform many metres from one step to another.
