Materials and textures per step
You can now have different materials or textures on objects from one step to another. For example switch exterior parts of a machine from metal to X-ray to show its inner parts, or display different images and videos on each step in the same UI.
This capability should give you much more creative flexibility without needing to duplicate meshes and bloating your Jigs size.
Custom textures on sub-objects
You can now add and edit custom textures at the mesh level, in addition to a whole 3D model. This works better with upstream 3D design tools like Blender, 3DS Max, and Maya and supports importing packed textures with 3D models. It should make it much easier to edit small textures on smaller sections of your models instead of having to edit the whole model's texture.
Combined with changing textures per step means you can show more details like product screens changing based on operations, power gauge readings, or video footage as just a few examples.

Importing embedded textures from 3D models
Embedded textures in FBX, USDZ, and GLB/GLTF files are now automatically applied to your 3D models when you load them into JigSpace. This means you can design and edit textures in your preferred 3D design tools and import them fully into JigSpace at the same time as your import your 3D models. Textured 3D models from photogrammetry tools like Polycam or 3D model marketplaces like Sketchfab, or generative AI tools like Meshy.ai will now import fully with their textures.

Importing materials
We also import PBR materials settings with supported models, including STEP and SolidWorks, to save you time re-adjusting transparency, metallic, roughness, or occlusion settings in JigSpace.
Automatic updates

MacOS and Windows desktop apps now update automatically, so you don't need to manually download the Jig app from our website each time we update the app. If you have any problems with the new Windows installer file, read our guide to installing the desktop app.
Automatic updates of Apple Vision Pro, iPad, and iPhone apps continue to operate via the AppStore as normal.
Performance improvements
We've made various improvements under the hood to speed up day-to-day performance of the JigSpace apps. The desktop apps are now over 200mb smaller in download size, and should be noticeably quicker in actions like creating, deleting, and loading Jigs.
Analytics reporting on your Jigs is now accessed exclusively via the web-based admin dashboard
Finally we've also decommissioned some old features that had reached their end of life:
- Object capture on supported iPhone and iPad apps
- Lidar scanning on supported iPhone and iPad apps
- iOS multiplayer presentations. We're doubling down on immersive multiplayer experiences with Apple Vision Pro.
